From idea to a live, revenue-ready platform

ProdajaPlaceva.rs is a specialized online marketplace for buying and selling land plots in Serbia. What looks like a simple listings website on the surface is actually a complete SaaS platform underneath: a two-sided marketplace with free listings for private sellers and subscription-based plans for real estate agencies, complete with automated billing, tiered pricing, and a self-service dashboard.

I handled the entire project end to end: product strategy, UX and UI design, custom web application development, SEO architecture, payment automation, deployment, and post-launch growth tooling. The platform went from concept to public launch as a polished, production-grade product – bilingual, mobile-first, and built to rank on Google from day one.

If you are looking for someone to build a custom marketplace, SaaS product, or business platform, this project shows the depth of what I deliver.

The challenge

The project needed more than a website. It needed a business that runs itself:

  • A two-sided marketplace serving both private sellers and professional real estate agencies, each with different rules, limits, and permissions
  • A subscription revenue model with multiple pricing tiers, free trials, and automatic upgrades and downgrades
  • Local payment integration – card processors are not the default for B2B in Serbia, so invoicing had to work with standard bank transfers and QR code payments
  • Search engine visibility as a core requirement – most buyers find land by googling a municipality name, so the platform had to be built for SEO from the ground up, not optimized as an afterthought
  • Minimal manual administration – the owner should spend time growing the business, not clicking buttons

What I built

A custom marketplace platform, not a template

Every listing includes an interactive map, photo galleries, video support, detailed land attributes (utilities, road access, zoning), and structured data that search engines understand. Buyers filter by location, price, and land characteristics. The entire experience is bilingual (Serbian and English) and fully responsive.

I deliberately avoided off-the-shelf marketplace templates. A custom-built web application meant every workflow – from listing moderation to agency verification – matches how the business actually operates.

Subscription billing automation

  • This is where the platform becomes a true SaaS product. Agencies choose between three plans with different listing limits and features. Behind the scenes, everything is automated:
  • Automatic invoice generation with NBS IPS QR codes, so agencies pay by simply scanning with their banking app
  • Automated welcome promotions – newly verified agencies receive a full premium plan free for 90 days, granted automatically upon approval
  • Smart renewal logic – paying early never costs the customer remaining days; the system calculates and preserves them
  • Automated downgrades – when a plan expires, the platform enforces the new limits on its own, following business rules defined up front
  • Scheduled reminder emails at 7, 3, and 1 day before expiry, fully automatic and bilingual

The result: a recurring revenue engine that requires almost zero manual work.

Business process automation everywhere

Beyond billing, I automated the operational workflows that usually eat a founder’s day:

  • Listing moderation pipeline with one-click approval and automatic notification emails to sellers
  • Visit scheduling system – agencies publish available time slots and buyers book on-site visits themselves, with automatic confirmations and cancellation handling on both sides
  • Automated social media content – the platform generates ready-to-post Instagram and TikTok visuals for every listing, branded and formatted for each channel, delivered by email with one click
  • Automated nightly backups, encrypted and stored off-site
  • Automated lead tracking – phone reveals and visit bookings are counted per listing, giving sellers real analytics without any manual reporting

This is the kind of workflow automation I bring to every project: identify the repetitive tasks, then make the software do them.

SEO as architecture, not decoration

  • Because organic search is the primary acquisition channel, I built SEO into the foundation:
  • Server-side rendering so Google sees fully rendered pages, not a blank JavaScript shell
  • Structured data (JSON-LD) on every listing, agency profile, and directory page
  • Clean, human-readable URLs with automatic 301 redirect management when URLs change
  • Automatically generated XML sitemaps
  • A built-in CMS and blog for content marketing, with location landing pages targeting municipality-level searches

Pages render in under 50 milliseconds – fast for users, and fast for search engine crawlers.

Built to scale, tested to last

The platform is covered by 600+ automated tests that run before every deployment. Combined with a fully scripted server setup and one-command deployments, that delivers something rare in custom software: the confidence to ship new features quickly without breaking what already works.

The results

  • Launched on schedule as a complete, public, revenue-ready platform
  • A self-running subscription business – billing, trials, reminders, and plan enforcement all happen automatically
  • Marketing on autopilot – social media assets generated per listing, analytics events tracked, and a content system ready for growth
  • A codebase and infrastructure the business can build on for years

What this means for your project

Whether you need a marketplace platform, a SaaS product with subscription billing, a custom web application, or automation of your existing business processes, my approach is the same: understand the business first, then build software that removes manual work instead of creating it.

I handle strategy, design, development, deployment, and everything in between – one person, full ownership, no hand-offs between agencies.
